These beautiful baskets are made by a group of skilled weavers from the Eastern region of Kenya (you can see them in the last picture!) using dyed sisal, a natural fibre made from the leaves of a type of Mexican agave. In their community, the art of weaving is passed down from one generation to another where daughters are traditionally gifted baskets by their mothers on their wedding day.
Use this planter basket to cover a large nursery pot (it fits up to an 18cm pot nicely), or as storage for household items. As each basket is made by hand, please expect slight differences in measurements.
